Singer Sean "Diddy" Combs is currently serving in prison. However, he quickly recognized a familiar face in prison when he encountered former NBA great Sebastian Telfair, a well-known Brooklyn basketball player. The most well-known prisoners serving time at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey are Diddy and Sebastian aka Bassy. According to the viral pictures, they spent Saturday hanging out in the jail yard and having a conversation.
This summer, Combs was found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution under the Mann Act. On the other hand, on March 16, 2023, Telfair entered a guilty plea to fraud charges. In order to obtain reimbursement for medical and dental costs that were never really incurred, the former player participated in a systematic operation to cheat the plan by filing false and fraudulent claims.
Sean Diddy Combs and Sebastian Telfair cross paths in New Jersey prison yard
While incarcerated at a federal prison in New Jersey, Sean Diddy Combs met former NBA star Sebastian Telfair. In the prison yard at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, where both men are presently incarcerated, the music mogul and the former Brooklyn basketball player were seen talking.
The viral pictures depict the two well-known prisoners having a conversation, signifying an unplanned meeting between two individuals who have spent years in overlapping New York circles.
The founder of Bad Boy Records is shown laughing and chatting with a group of prisoners, and Sebastian's representative claims that in a few of the pictures, he is speaking to Diddy. After breaking the terms of his supervised release in a healthcare fraud case, Telfair reported to prison in August.
He and Diddy reportedly go a long way back. After Diddy's arrest, he publicly discussed the accusations and charges that resulted in Diddy's imprisonment. His remarks about the same and his viewpoint on domestic abuse were also criticized in an interview with Vlad TV.
Telfair made a statement about video footage of Diddy abusing Cassie Ventura a few months before Diddy's incarceration. After that, Telfair described the situation as appearing to be a couple fighting and implied that women sometimes motivate men to strike them.
Telfair was tagged as Diddy's supporter prior to the two men being imprisoned at the same facility as a result of these contentious remarks. Although the content of their Saturday talk is still unknown, the comments probably influence their present relationship and conversations.
Sebastian Telfair had faced prison time after violating supervised release terms
On March 16, 2023, Telfair entered a guilty plea to fraud charges. He received a three-year probationary term. Due to his noncompliance with court-mandated community work and his inability to report to the U.S. Probation Office, he has been sentenced to six months in prison in August 2025.
The former NBA player had discussed his impending prison sentence in public on Monday, August 11. The announcement follows Telfair's sentence of six months in prison for breaking the conditions of his supervised release.
As long as he adhered to the extremely simple conditions of his release, he was granted a suspended prison term and was not required to serve any time. He will now spend at least three additional months in prison since he failed to do so.
Talking about it, Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said in a statement:
“The mandatory prison sentence he received today is required by law and he has now been held accountable for the unlawful conduct."
Meanwhile, a phone message on Monday asking Telfair's lawyer for comment was not immediately answered. Additionally, Telfair also hasn't said anything about it as of yet.
