Drivers on the M25 faced delays of up to an hour on Sunday afternoon after a vehicle burst into flames. Traffic was held on the clockwise carriageway between J22, St Albans, and J23, A1M, while emergency crews tackled the blaze.
National Highways said: "Traffic has temporarily stopped on the M25 clockwise between J22 StAlbans and J23 (A1M) due to a vehicle fire. Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue are working on scene. There are delays of at least 20 minutes on approach."
The vehicle was recovered just before 3.15pm, allowing traffic to begin to filter through.
